Economic Development: Tj encourages all people to take control of their own financial security.  In a global economy that brutal on the ‘have nots’, finding an open position is not our only option. The creation of businesses by community members can provide opportunities for many people for years to come. That is not to say one must do it alone. By pushing community and government efforts to assist small business development in District 18, Tj envisions an economic boom in the next five years. Information, education, and government assistance should be used to spur the small business economy in District 18.

Baker Holm will vote to protect social security. Savings programs should be expanded in District 18 for social security protection. Baker Holm would establish a savings plan that focuses on putting small amounts of money away in regular intervals for retirement. A District 18 resident credit union is another strategy Baker Holm sees for her community.

Healthcare: Tj Baker Holm supports strides toward free or low cost health care for all people. Tj will work with law makers to create laws to make sure every American has equal healthcare. In our great America, the healthcare system should be able to take care of our elders and children with our tax money. Even people who can afford insurance deserve to pay lower rates for care and medicine. Tj will make efforts to lessen emergency room wait time and use government resources to build clinics in District 18.

Baker Holm will also design legislation to promote teen abstinence programs and build a bridge between the pro-choice and pro-life supporters. These efforts will be set up to prevent certain healthcare problems from existing in the future.
